Established in January 2022, Hi ACTA is a social enterprise subsidiary of Alpha Southeast Asia, a 16-year old Hong Kong headquartered multimedia conglomerate with a regional capital markets journal, multiple investment platforms and a specialist PR consultancy.

At present, Hi ACTA is present through affiliates in Hong Kong, China, Japan, Taiwan, South Korea and Singapore.

To magnify our reach, we keep our spend local and partner with local organisations from across the public, private and social sectors.

With 30 confirmed corporate donors (some of Asia’s largest household names) as of late May 2022, Hi ACTA has a growing contact network of 872 schools covering up to 436,000+ students across Hong Kong, China, Japan, Taiwan, South Korea and Singapore.

In fact, we wouldn’t be able to deliver ADVANCING SCHOOLS without the support of these sustainability leaders. 

The continuing goal therefore is expand our local school network with the help of our corporate donors in a financially sustainable way.

95 percent of funding received for the ADVANCING SCHOOLS programme are channelled towards subsidising the implementation of unique educational syllabus and content, at local schools in each market we cover. The balance 5 percent (or maximum US$1000 per corporate donor) is allocated for audit and administration. Since the school learning tool is accessed via an App by teachers and learners alike, Hi ACTA is able to streamline costs and utilise tracking tools for reporting, with a minimum headcount.

At the end of our first financial year in March 2023, an audited financial report will be produced before the end of the second quarter of 2023. Meantime, periodic updates will be produced to allow for inputs and suggestions from stakeholders. For benchmarking purposes, quantitative data in subsequent years will be presented using the comparability principle, spread across two calendar years or more.

Siddiq has broad international experience managing the data and information business. With over 26 years in the industry, he established a regional financial platform in 2007 and has since served the role of CEO. He started his career at Institutional Investor Inc., in 1997 before joining Thomson which was later acquired by the Haymarket Group in 2006. A published author, Siddiq has written numerous columns and delivered several keynote speeches at various events across Asia.

Chris has served Alpha as an advisory director since 2015. He has 22 years’ experience working across the data, research and education sectors. Between 2011 and 2015, he was Head of Strategy at McMillan Media, responsible for educational curriculum. Prior to that, he was Regional Director for REDD Publishing plc. in Singapore. Chris qualified as a Chartered Accountant with Coopers & Lybrand. Chris joined the board of Hi Acta in January 2022.
